One of the things I love about residential real estate is the opportunity to combine many of my loves - for clients at all stages of life and their canines, for lively neighborhoods with good neighbors, for local businesses with vision and commitment to the community, and for big-hearted organizations that do so much incredibly good work every day.
The Pup Stop on Wakefield is where all of this came together for me. Before we moved to Woodforest, we lived in a three-story city home at the corner of Wakefield and Alba in the Garden Oaks Area. There I launched my dog-themed riff on the "free library" concept during the early days of COVID. Many of our neighbors were dog-walkers, and this was a fun way to bring joy, conversation and community in a time of uncertainty and lots of social-distancing. It began with free dog treats, and The Pup Stop became a "thing"!
With the help of neighbors and local business partners, The Pup Stop's mission grew into a fundraising vehicle that supported local animal rescue groups. Along the way, we've met amazing people and pups, raised tens of thousands of dollars of support and helped build community.
This-Is-Houston Animal Rescue brought us our rescue Husky, Max, and is my very favorite. Click the button below for info on fostering, donating and getting involved!
